Title of game: Petit Four プティフール Company: Otomate / Idea Factory Official Website: http://www.otomate.jp/petit/index.html Cero Rating: B (12+) Platform: PS2 Gameplay: Visual novel with image map Characters you can go for: Sanada Kazuki (Suzuki Tatsuhisa) - The hyperactive childhood friend, with a crush on you since he can remember Karasawa Yuuta (Tachibana Shinnosuke) - The senpai with a host personality Kakizaki Seiji (Ono Daisuke) - The "perfect smile outside, devil personality inside" manager Matsuo Isamu (Hiyama Nobuyuki) - The "don't slack off you brats!" main chef Charles Kuribayashi (Chiba Susumu) - The feminine half French Takenashi Shizuka (Hoshi Souichirou) - The "my pace" somelier Brief Summary: Will you survive the summer holidays with a French Restaurant to take care of? This game is for: Lovers of slice of life shoujo stories This game is not for: Players who look for deeper stories My personal rating: 3 ½ star Pros: The first thing you will notice, is that you can pick the colour of the uniform of the restaurant (Brown, Red, Blue and Green). This choice will reflect on the CGs during the game, but luckily it doesn't mean that you will have to play every character with every colour to complete the CG gallery, where the pictures are saved with the default colour (Brown). Each character is funny in its own way, and with the story they make a cute and funny slice of life game. As all Otomate/IF games, its full voiced, and the album section contains a recipe gallery (where you can check the dishes you prepare during the game), a voice collection gallery and a movie gallery with all the credits movies. Pretty art and backgrounds. Cons: With all those things, you'd expect at least moving lips, event gallery and the boys calling at least the default name of the heroine: forget about these things, they aren't there. As all the games from this brand, it lacks interactivity: deciding the time table doesn't count, since the game itself guides you through it. The story gets unrealistic near the end, and it gets boring to read the same 3-4 character events when you pay a visit to the characters.
